Today was a fairly nice day, even though it was rainy and overcast. I slept until noon without interruption. I never sleep that late! We finally made it out of the house around 3, and set up my new tent on the Spit. My old one had far too many leaks and drips, so this will be very nice.
After Ray took off to do some stuff, I went to "Karate Kid" at the Homer Theater, which consists of one whole screen. It was the first movie I've been to for a long time without stadium seating. I'm going to tell myself that's why people don't know the etiquette for that type of seating anymore. After I'd sat down, and most of the theater was empty, a big group of six people came and sat right in front of me, blocking the screen with big heads. I mean... when I sit down in a theater like that, I make every attempt not to block anyone behind me. Isn't that the considerate thing to do? Most of the theater was empty!! I digress... The movie was awesome! I really enjoyed it.
After the movie, Eddy and I jogged down the spit again. It was pretty barren since it was about 9pm when we started out. On the way back, I noticed some sea otters playing in the ocean, so we sat on a rock for quite a while watching them and a passing HUGE cruise ship. I never realized how gigantic those ships really are. They seem to dwarf the entire spit.
It was a rather satisfying day, but tomorrow we need to work again, and clean! :-)

Street Faire, Jog, Darts 7-17-10
Today was pretty nice. The weather was gorgeous and I think it was the warmest day we've had since I've been here. It actually felt like it was in the 70's! I ended up at the street faire for quite a while. It was nice just hanging out and listening to some music in the warm air.
After that, Eddy and I went for a little jog on the spit. It was the first time I've done that for a while, but it felt really good, and the spit bike trail is beautiful.
I took a wonderful shower after that, and then Ray and I went to a bar to throw some darts. This time, I had my butt handed to me, but it was fun anyway.

Work, etc... 7-16-10
Well, I basically just worked again today. I got the wonderful news that Jess booked her flight to visit and drive back with me though, so that was awesome! I was not looking forward to doing that drive alone again... it was long enough the first time. It'll be way more fun with company.
Work was much better in the sense of money today, so that was good!
I came home this evening and messed around on the internet. That was my day! Tomorrow I'm going to the street fair for a while before I open the stand. I love street fairs! :-)

Work, Work, Work...and Bishop's Beach 7-15-10

Today was rather frustrating at the stand. It was really slow, even though it was beautiful and sunny, which is really kind of weird. After work, Eddy and I went to Bishop's Beach (a relation, Andrea?) and walked around there for a long while. It was a nice day to be at the beach. Well, is there really a bad day to be at the beach?

Propane Leak, Beach Day, Work, Dinner 7-14-10
Today I got up fairly early and actually wanted to get to the stand. I'm feeling the need to catch up on some money-making. Anyway, after I got everything set up and did my daily routine of wrestling with the tent, dragged the HUGE propane tank out of the car and rolled it where I needed it to be, I figured out I had a leak with the connector. When I opened it, there was way too much of a gassy smell (and no, it wasn't me, thank you very much). After calling Ray, he said I'd have to wait a few hours for him to get there and check it.
Eddy and I threw a "wall" back up on the tent, and headed to the base of the spit. I unloaded my bike from the car, put Eddy on a leash (since he broke his biker dog), and we rode down the spit. When Eddy started looking tired, we stopped and played on the beach for quite a while. He met some new doggy friends, which made him happy. He also repeatedly chased a stick into the waves, which was amusing for me.
After that, we met up with Ray at the tent where he confirmed there was a leak in the connector, gave me another one, and I went back to work. I did pretty well for only working a few hours, and then we had pizza at Starvin' Marvin's, which was delicious. It was a decent day. :-)
More rain, a day off 7-13-10
I drove back from Soldotna in the pouring rain, and after checking out the spit, decided to take the day off. There was no one there anyway, and it was cold, wet, and miserable. I went to the video store and got a couple more "Grey's Anatomy" DVD's, and watched them most of the day. It hasn't been an exciting day, but I'm okay with it.
Anchorage and Poker 7-12-10
Today I got up early and drove to Soldotna to meet Ray and head to Anchorage. He was nice enough to drive so I could check out the scenery and take pictures, and fortunately, it was another gorgeous day!
The drive to Anchorage is apparently the fifth most beautiful scenic drive in the world, or something like that anyway. I believe it! We drove along a beautiful, aqua-marine river - I think the Kenai River, and then we drove between the bay and the mountains. It was simply gorgeous.
On the way there, I called to re-order my camera battery charger, because apparently they were out of the one I had previously ordered. They found a more expensive one, but it plugs into the wall and the car, which is pretty nice. After we had lunch, I went to the car and was looking for something under the seat, and found my original charger. I couldn't believe it. Unfortunately, they'd already shipped my new one, so now I guess I'll be double-covered. Typical me!
Anyway, after we went to Sam's and picked up more product and stuff, we also hit Best Buy, where Ray finally bought a decent digital camera. When we got back to Soldotna, we went straight to Ray's friend Jason's house to play some Poker, at which I lost sorely, but it was fun anyway.
After that, we came back to Ray's parents' house. It was a great day.
